Disclaimer
1. Travel information accuracy
Visitus publishes editorial travel guides about Portugal. We work to keep our pages accurate at the time of writing and at each annual review, but travel information is unusually fluid. Opening hours, prices, ferry and rail schedules, currency exchange, weather conditions, regulations, accommodation availability, road closures and access conditions can change without notice and sometimes overnight.
Time-sensitive details should be verified with the official source listed at the bottom of each pillar guide before booking or departure. We list official tourism boards, transport operators, weather services and government authorities as our sources for exactly this purpose.
2. No professional advice
Visitus is a travel publication. It does not provide legal, medical, immigration, visa, customs, financial, insurance, or any other form of professional advice.
Where our content references such matters (for example, the visa-free status of a country, the tax-free purchase rules at the airport, or the safety of swimming at a particular beach), the information is provided as general orientation only. For decisions that depend on your personal circumstances, consult a qualified professional or the relevant official authority.
3. Affiliate disclosure
Visitus may participate in affiliate programmes. Where an article contains an affiliate link (a link that may earn us a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking, at no additional cost to you), this is disclosed proximate to the link or at the start of the article.
Affiliate revenue, where it occurs, never determines whether a destination, restaurant, hotel, tour operator, or service is mentioned in our editorial content. Recommendations reflect personal experience and reader usefulness, in line with our Editorial Policy.
4. Advertising disclosure
Some pages of Visitus display advertising provided by Google AdSense. Adverts are clearly labelled as such and are visually distinct from editorial content. The presence of an advert does not imply our endorsement of the advertised product or service. We do not control which specific adverts are shown to you; that selection is made by Google based on your settings, the page context, and Google's ad-quality rules.
Advertising is not present on our legal, contact, author, or about pages. See our Cookie Policy for details on the cookies that AdSense may set.
5. External links responsibility
Visitus links to external websites operated by third parties. We do not control these sites and cannot guarantee the accuracy, freshness, completeness or safety of their content. Following an external link is at your own risk. Inclusion of an external link does not imply endorsement of the linked site by Visitus.
6. Personal experience and editorial voice
Many sections of Visitus are written in the first person and reflect the lived experience of Sofia Almeida (see About). Personal experience is one perspective. A specific restaurant we love may be off-form on the day you visit; a beach we describe as quiet in October may be busy when you go. We try to flag the conditions under which our impressions hold, but no editorial voice can replace your own observation.
Treat our recommendations as informed starting points, not as guarantees.
7. Errors and corrections
If you find an error, an outdated detail, a broken link, or a description that no longer matches reality, we want to know. Please email contact@visitus.pt with the URL of the page and a brief description of the issue. We aim to review and update within seven days where possible.
We maintain a "Last updated" date at the top of each pillar guide so readers can see when a guide was last refreshed.
